The Treasury Hotel, Adelaide
Opening the new year with a bang, Spence Club hosted its annual summer mixer at the iconic Treasury Hotel in the Adelaide CBD.
The event, open to both members and non-members is one of Spence Club's flagship events, this year hosting over 90 incredible and diverse women from a range of industries and organisations across South Australia.
We were incredibly lucky to be joined by Isobel Marshall, the recently crowned 'Young Australian of the Year 2020' and co-founder of Taboo. Taboo is a South Australian social enterprise aimed at reducing period poverty around the globe and back home here in Australia. Isobel shared with attendees the incredible business model, loyal customer base and incredible passion, that both herself and co-founder, Eloise Hall, have for changing not only the face of period poverty but also general period and other traditionally taboo topics. These two Spence Club members are certainly leaving their mark on the world and we are so excited to continue to support their journey.
Following Isobel's presentation, Spence Clubmembers and their guests were able to enjoy a night of nibbles, sparkling and networking.
With a few networking games thrown in, the night was a resounding success and established a wonderful tone for the rest of the year to follow.
A massive thank you to some of the evening's wonderful sponsors! Starting with the major event sponsor, Jurlique, who provided take-home gifts for the first 30 ticket purchasers.
A big thank you as well to Howard Vineyard, Spence Club's major wine sponsor, who provided wine for our guest speaker to enjoy, and Penfolds winery for providing vouchers for our door prize winner to take a partner or friend along for a free heritage tour of the property.
