Lumination, Kent Town
An action-packed night, the AGM and D&I Panel was an excellent opportunity to bring members together, not only to vote on the future of the club but to have meaningful and considered conversation on a topic close to members' hearts: diversity and inclusion.
Starting with the AGM, Spence Club was again overwhelmed by an incredible pool of candidates to fill available positions within the board. Following the completion of a membership base vote, we were able to welcome back interim board members, Rebecca Bendikov, Sian Dodd and Kacy Ratta as well as the new secretary, Kerry Marcinkowski. The board is so excited to welcome and welcome back the board members and look forward to seeing their impact on the club over their term.
Whilst we are so excited about the new faces around the Spence Club board, we also need to make a very notable thank you to ourexiting secretary, Angie Young. After 4 years on the board, Angies legacy was simply incredible. We are all wishing Angie the absolute best as she enters into new professional ventures.
Once the formalities of the evening were wrapped up, members could sit back relax and enjoy their wonderful glasses of Howards wine whilst observing a cutting-edge panel of diversity and inclusion experts. This panel included Associate Professor Duygu Yengin, Economist of the University of Adelaide, Anna Lee, Leadership Development Consultant, coach, facilitator and director at Leed Consulting and Carla Mellor, Senior Human Resources Professional with experience spanning the oil & gas, finance, construction and utilities industries. The panel was facilitated by Spence Club Board Member Ashleigh Dumont and deep dived into the nitty gritty of Diversity and Inclusion within workplaces.
