Henrietta and Grace from Body 4 Life kicked off Spence Club’s Wellness Brunch for 40 members at Burnside Village on Sunday, August 16. After a great low intensity core workout, members were treated to a 30 minute yoga session with Zara from Lululemon, before enjoying an amazing healthy and nourishing brunch from The Nourish’d Kitchen.
Spence Club founder Lauren Zwaans explained that the intention behind the event was for Spence Club to continue to provide a diverse array of event offerings. For this event, the idea was to have a holistic wellness focus. A fitness component at the start of our event was a great icebreaker.
The committee did an amazing job finding sponsors for the event, including fantastic gift bags and a silent auction, which raised more than $1500 for Headspace: the National Youth Mental Health Foundation. Headspace provides early intervention mental health services for young people aged 12-25 years. The service is designed to make it as easy as possible for a young person and their family to get the help they need for problems affecting their wellbeing, including their mental health, physical health, work and study support and alcohol and other drug services.
